Copenhagen Municipality has made a new decision to go public cloud on Azure with the strategy to leave nothing behind (Decommission the the datacenters). I was asked if I wanted to change path and I have accepted my new role as Cloud Architect.
As from 1st. November 2020 my focus will not longer be on-premise datacenter. Some of the new challanges is to make the Azure environment ready for workloads and migrate workloads from on-premise to Cloud.
Infrastructure As Code: Great decisions has been made, and one of them is to change the way our IT is driven and make everything Infrastructure as Code (Declarative), instead of deploying everything in the portal we make the platform capabilities to support automation from day one.
Our Cloud team is based on the SAFe Agile framework, and I also accepted additional role as Product Owner & Code reviewer.
Since November, the main objective for me was to engage, learn and get some dirt under the nails, Cloud Architect is a big title, with great responsibility and i believe I’ve done some progress to help the company with the journey to Cloud.
Update April 2021: I successfully certified as Administrator Associate(AZ-104) and Devops Expert (AZ-400), going forward to be certified Solutions Architect as fast as possible!
I am working on a lot of projects related to the Cloud and I will be sharing some ideas and code soon hopefully 😀
